Session Settings

Progression Editor

Content Filtering Mode

When set to 'Contains', selects a scales or chords containing the selected tones and degrees and possibly more. When set to 'Matches', selects a scales or chords containing only the selected tones and degrees.

Contains Matches

Diatonic Filter Mode

Selects the chords diatonic to an already selected scale in the same region, or a scales diatonic to an already selected chord in the same region.

Functions

Selects the chords that carry out the chosen harmonic functions. A scale must be selected in the same region for functions to apply.

Tones

Sets the chromas (distinct pitches, ignoring octave), note names, and the tonic for a scale—or the chromas, note names, and root for a chord. Enable MIDI to enter notes via a MIDI keyboard, or Audio to detect pitches from a microphone.

Degrees

Sets the distances as measured from the tonic for each non-tonic tone in a scale, or the distances as measured from the root for each non-root tone in a chord.

Chromatic Interval Classes

Sets intervals according to their sizes where CIC1 = 1 or 11 semitones, CIC2 = 2 or 10 semitones, CIC3 = 3 or 9 semitones, CIC4 = 4 or 8 semitones, CIC5 = 5 or 7 semitones, CIC6 = 6 semitones.

Scale Type Filter

Finds a scale or chord names containing the text input. The naming convention for scales follows common music theory conventions, while chords follow a new naming convention that ensures each possible chord can be uniquely identified.

Quality Filter

Selects elements based on the presence of a major third degree (M), minor third degree (m), or no third degree (o).

Adjusts the minimum and maximum number of unique tones in a scale’s or chord's octave.
